14 DAY TRIAL // Social media is making it very easy for stars to interact with their fans and, this way, better promote whatever project they might be working on. In some cases, celebrities also use it to offer personal details fans would not have access to otherwise.
This is the case of actor Kevin Bacon and his wife Kyra Sedwick. The latter had a home accident over the weekend and had to be rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment.
As Bacon himself explains on WhoSay, she chopped off a fingertip while cutting kale and, of course, he made sure fans got a mildly gruesome picture of the injury, which you too can see at the link included in this paragraph.
“@kyrasedgwick in the ER. Kale isn't ALLWAYS HEALTHY... if you chop the end of your finger off,” he wrote.
Later, the actor posted another photo, which we have also attached to this article, and the mention that Kyra was doing better.
“My Baby is fine. All good. Still can't find the tip of that finger,” Kevin Bacon wrote.
As we reported on several previous instances as well, other celebrities have used social media before to let their fans in on the details of gruesome accidents they were involved in.
Jesse James, for instance, lost the tip of his pinky in a garage mishap and he too tweeted graphic pics of the injury.
Always a tough guy, he even called celebrity gossip e-zine TMZ on the way to have surgery to talk about the accident. He lost the tip of the pinky for good.
Afterwards, Hulk Hogan found himself in a similar situation, when he tried to fix the radiator on his boat and it exploded in his hand.
He posted various, rather disturbing photos of the injury online, and later explained to the press that touching the overheated radiator in a vain hope to fix it was probably the dumbest thing he’d ever done in his life.
