Your personal mobile TV

Recently presented among the KDDI's Spring collection, W51K by Kyocera comes in a clamshell form factor with a large screen and a body thickness of 20mm, which is exactly what you would expect from a mobile phone on the Japanese market.

The W51K comes with one-seg mobile terrestrial digital broadcasting support and a large 2.7 inch screen with a W-QVGA resolution.

Due to the big screen, the mobile phone can be easily used as a personal TV regardless of where you are at the moment.

It can be used while on the run or at home and will provide up to 4 hours and 20 minutes of continuous viewing time.

Aside from that, the phone also features a MicroSD card slot for memory expansion and you will be able to record up to 10 hours of your favorite shows on a memory card.

The mobile phone also comes with a media key in the front used for the control of media such as one-seg and LISMO. It works with a woofer-equipped desktop charger that can also be used as a one-seg TV stand and will provide high-quality sound for both TV and LISMO video.

The phone was presented by Japanese mobile operator KDDI among the Spring lineup of mobile phones and is manufactured by Kyocera.

It includes a task switch function that will allow switching between various functions which means that you can check your e-mail while listening to music or watching TV, a 2 megapixel camera with autofocus and 65MB internal memory. W51K measures 50 x 103 x 24 mm and weighs 131 grams. There is no information on the price this mobile phone will be available for.
