Kyocera Communications Inc. announced today at the CTIA Wireless 2009 trade show in Las Vegas the release of two new mobile phones that featured CDMA support. The new handsets, dubbed G2GO (“Good-to-Go”) M2000 and Laylo M1400, are meant to come as affordable devices that also deliver value, benefiting from the company's rich history and expertise in the field. The new G2GO M2000 is the third-generation mobile phone from Kyocera that is able to offer users a full-QWERTY keyboard in a low-cost device. The second one, Laylo M1400, comes with an ultra-stylish sliding form factor.

“The G2GO and Laylo support our current strengths as an innovative leader in handset manufacturing providing consumers with a blend of style, functionality and affordability,” said Eric Anderson, vice president of sales at KCI. “The integration of Kyocera Wireless and the former Sanyo mobile handset group is expanding those strengths to include higher-tiered handsets going forward while still providing functional, affordable and feature-rich devices like these.”

The Kyocera G2GO M2000 comes as a successor of the company's Lingo M1000 QWERTY handset, while including a 2.4-inch QVGA display, Bluetooth connectivity, MP3 player, Email and IM capabilities, a 1.3-megapixel camera, as well as a microSD memory card slot for additional storage space of up to 8GB. The handset's battery is able to offer up to 250 minutes of talk time, as well as up to 200 hours of standby time. The new G2GO M2000 measures 113 x 52 x 17 mm and weighs 120 grams.

The handset can be seen as a great option for any on-the-go user, as it can provide Bluetooth connectivity, Speaker-independent voice recognition and a VGA camera, all packed in a handset that measures 94.7 x 46.7 x 17.0 mm and weighs 90 grams, while also being able to offer up to 200 minutes of talk time, as well as up to 200 hours of standby time.

The Kyocera G2GO M2000 is expected to come to Virgin Mobile USA this month, with no price tag unveiled at the moment. As for Laylo M1400, the company hasn't released any details on its availability or price either.
