Virgin Mobile has just announced the availability of Kyocera's S2100 feature-phone with the payLo plan. The device is available starting today for $39.99 (excluding taxes). The phone will also be distributed by Virgin Mobile retailers, including Best Buy, Target and RadioShack.
Kyocera S2100 and payLo’s 1,500-minute plan have been combined to meet the needs of voice-centric customers who don't need the 'unlimited service’.
Virgin Mobile's $30 payLo 1,500-minute plan is suitable for customers who want to stay in touch with their family and friends.
“payLo by Virgin Mobile, with its 1,500-minute plan, caters to a growing number of consumers who have been paying for unlimited voice, messaging or data when all they really need is affordable talk time, and a lot of it,” said Mark Lederman, director, payLo by Virgin Mobile.
“At $30 per month, these customers can now save money while knowing they have the right service for their communication needs. The benefits provided by payLo’s $30 offer, combined with the Kyocera S2100 handset, reaffirm our commitment to providing overall value to our customers,” continued Lederman.
The clamshell phone sports a 5-megapixel VGA camera with 5X digital zoom, a 1.8-inch LCD internal screen, as well as a 1-inch external color display.
The feature-phone includes a tactile keypad with visual separation, which allows faster, easier typing and quick text and picture messaging.
Other key features of the phone include: Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR (Enhanced Data Rate) support, Web and e-mail features, Mobile Search (Google, Accuweather, Yelp, Craigslist and US Weekly).
Virgin Mobile stated that in addition to 1,500 anytime domestic minutes, payLo’s $30 plan also offers 500 domestic messages (text, picture messages, e-mail and/or IM), as well as 10MB Web access.
“payLo customers are looking for popular features in a solid, reliable handset at the lowest cost,” said Eric Anderson, vice president of sales at Kyocera Communications Inc.
“The Kyocera S2100 delivers a familiar, well-liked form factor with just the right amount of extra features to make it useful and fun,” concluded Anderson.
