Boost Mobile customers will be happy to know that their favorite carrier has just added the ultra-rugged Kyocera Hydro Icon smartphone to its portfolio.

The spiritual successor of the Kyocera Hydro, the new Icon model will be available for purchase beginning June 17 for $150 (€110) outright, AndroidGuys reports.

The rugged handset is certified to withstand dust, drops and shocks, as well as being submerged underwater. The smartphone sports a 4.5-inch qHD capacitive touchscreen display that supports 540 x 960 pixels resolution.

Kyocera Hydro Icon is equipped with a 1.2GHz quad-core processor and 8GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD memory card.

On the back, the handset boasts an enhanced 8-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus and video recording. There’s also a secondary 2-megapixel camera in the front for video calls.

Speaking of which, the Hydro Icon offers both 3G and 4G LTE connectivity, as well as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microUSB and GPS with A-GPS support.

Kyocera Hydro Icon is powered by Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box and supports wireless charging. It also worth mentioning that the phone drains energy from a 2000 mAh battery that has yet to be rated by the carrier.
