Kyocera Communications Inc., the company that delivers the Kyocera- and SANYO-branded wireless devices to the market, announced recently the launch of two new mobile phones, the Torino S2300 and Domino S1310. The new handsets come with some of the most popular features available in today's cellphones, while also sporting lower price tags, the company announced.

The new Torino device has been included in the company's QWERTY messaging device category, as it sports a full keyboard, coupled with a large high-resolution display. The Domino comes as a value-centric handset, aimed mainly at those focused on making phone calls and sending text messages, the company announced.

“In these challenging times, you can’t overstate the importance of a good value and these phones certainly deliver that,” said Eric Anderson, vice president of sales at KCI. “We’ve worked very hard to incorporate higher-end features in more basic product tiers and these phones strike an ideal balance between quality, functionality and affordability.”

The new Kyocera Torino S2300 comes with a 2.2-inch QVGA TFT display, a 1.3-megapixel photo snapper, Bluetooth 2.1 technology, SMS Chat View, support for MMS, IM and email clients, speakerphone, voice dialing, 2.5 mm headset jack, full-speed USB, and support for BREW. The handset measures 4.06 x 2.60 x 0.59 inches and weighs in at 3.49 ounces. Its battery can offer up to 250 minutes of talk time, or up to 225 hours of standby time.

The second device, Kyocera Domino S1310, sports a simple and elegant design. Its specs list includes Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity, WAP 2.0 browser, BREW 3.1.5, SMS and instant messaging capabilities, speakerphone, and support for multiple languages and TTY/TDD for the hearing impaired. The phone measures 4.29 x 1.73 x 0.54 inches and weighs 2.5 ounces, while including a battery that can deliver up to 200 minutes of talk time or up to 200 hours of standby time.

According to the company, the Kyocera Domino S1310 is expected to arrive on the market in late 2009, while the Kyocera Torino S2300 should hit the United States market in early 2010.
