Kylie Still Fears Cancer, Dreams of Simple Life

- The Australian singer has been remarkably open about her fears and plans

By: Monica Gaza, Entertainment News Editor

Kylie Minogue may be among the hottest celebrities around, but she has finally admitted that she is, in the end, only human and that her breast cancer battle has had serious effects on her and left her constantly exhausted. Kylie was diagnosed with the potentially killer disease in May 2005 and was given the all clear a year later, after undergoing chemotherapy. However, judging from the way the petite Australian diva stormed back into our lives in the past year, I tend to think she's been keeping herself a little too busy. Kylie's new single "2 Hearts" will be out this
week followed by her latest album "X". Point proven.

"I'm feeling good. I mean, obviously there's a lot going on right now, and I kind of get home and fall onto the couch, but I have to be a little reasonable with myself. It can be a struggle, but that's my path at the moment and it just makes me all the more appreciative about being here, and doing a job I love, and getting all the support I have had, and that I do have", she said.

Kylie also revealed it never crossed her mind to quit being a pop singer after winning her battle with cancer, because she doesn't know how to do anything else. "You do hear stories about people who, after illness or any life changing event, decide to chuck in their job", she said in an interview with BBC Radio 1. "And I found it really reassuring that this is what I do. Let's face it, I'm totally unqualified to do anything else, and in some respects I feel like I'm just starting to get into my stride with it. Then again, I could change my mind in a month or so, but I doubt it!"

Kylie's plans for the future are less glamorous than the stunning appearances she's been putting in lately. The singer revealed that at some point in her life she plans to move to the country in an effort to "reclaim herself". "I do have this need to reclaim myself a little bit, to do things to make me feel whole, which is why I'm doing all these things such as horseback riding and taking walks in the country and looking for a place outside London to chill", she stated to In Style. Sounds good - and I'm sure it will work out for her in the end, provided she takes it easy. Which I hope she will.
