British model James Gooding, known as the man who dated one of the world's most desirable superstars, Kylie Minogue, for three years, has declared for a British magazine that one of the reasons he cheated on Kylie is because he spent time in foster care as a child.
The model, who had an affair with catwalk queen Sophie Dahl, claims that because his mother left him in a foster care when he was 9, he is now unable to stay in a relationship.
He explained: "It's strange when a mother breaks your heart as a child. I'm not looking for a mother figure in a relationship, but the relationship between mother and son obviously affects the way a man relates to a woman in adult life".
James revealed he got involved with Sophie because he was terrified of losing Kylie, just like he lost his mother.
He confessed to Britain's Marie Claire magazine: "Life was good and I fell in love. But when I got to the point of thinking, 'This person means everything to me,' I got scared.
There weren't any specific actions that would trigger my fears It was an overall sense of getting in too deep and losing control of my emotions".
Gooding added: "I ended up having a relationship with Sophie Dahl. So yeah, I basically fucked around with someone else. I'm not proud of it, but there are plenty of men who have done that".
