Kylie Minogue is recovering well after surgery

Kylie Minogue, who went under surgery for early breast cancer on Friday, at Cambrini hospital, in Mellbourne, is now recovering at her parents' Melbourne home with boyfriend Martinez and her family by her side. The surgeon, Jenny Senior is confident the cancer was removed.

Kylie is now preparing for further treatment as chemotherapy and hormonal therapy. Monash Medical Centre head of breast surgery Stewart Hart said "The program will usually involve some form of therapy in addition to surgery," he said. "That can be for example a course of chemotherapy or hormonal therapy."

The statistics say one of 32 Australians were diagnosed with breast cancer last Tuesday. "The fact that she's 36, that she's young, that she's healthy, that she projects this sort of image of youth and vitality, yet has been struck down with breast cancer, is a truly shocking thing," The Sun newspaper editor Graham Dudman said.
"It's a very, very big story."

Mr Dudman also wrote that not only Kylie's fan but also the public hold a huge affection for her. "In these days of instant celebrity and reality TV where people come from nowhere to fame and then go back to nowhere almost overnight, Kylie has transcended that and has been part of youth culture in Britain for almost two decades now," he said.
