“This is your show,” so tune in for the finale, even if it was spoiled for you, series creator says on Twitter

One full week ahead of the final episode on “Sons of Anarchy,” which ends its seventh season and its run on FX on December 9, fans found out the answer to one of the most frequently asked questions about the show in recent months: who will die?

Distributors for the companion book for the series, which was supposed to be shipped to fans only after the series finale, breached the embargo and delivered the pre-orders ahead of time. In the book, fans got the answer to the aforementioned question – and series creator Kurt Sutter was none too pleased about it.

His initial reaction was to take to Twitter and proclaim that, by the time he was done, he would have a basket filled with the heads of those responsible for this mess. His basket remains empty, he says in a new message for the fans.

Sutter takes the blame for the mess

In his initial message, which was an apology to the fans who had been shipped their copy of the book (which contained the big spoiler), Sutter took all the blame for it even though he had done nothing wrong.

Still, he said, since it had been his idea to release the book, he couldn’t but feel responsible for the mess, in the sense that fans would not have had their ending spoiled had it not been for him and his idea. At the same time, he promised fans that he would see heads roll for this, while begging with them to tune in for the finale because it translated better on camera than it did on paper.

The big spoiler contained in the book, we should note, came under the guise of a tribute page to all the major characters who had been killed throughout the 7 seasons.

Sutter apologizes again, is genuinely sorry

Sutter seems to have cooled off a bit since the initial message, because in a new one, he tells fans that he should not have reacted like he did, since he believes that only made things worse.

Speaking of making matters worse, his basket of heads is still empty, “as the corporate art of buck-passing has reached a new level of brilliance.” His initial reaction to the leak was to “burn house” and go away, but he was reminded by one of the stars on the show, Tommy Flanagan, that “this is not my show, this is your show.”

So Sutter will honor his previous commitment of taking part in the Anarchy Afterword event, which will air right after the series finale and will also feature leading man Charlie Hunnam and the rest of the cast.

“I hope folks tune in for the finale. I'm very proud of it,” Sutter says once more.

“Sons of Anarchy” or the little violent engine that could

“Sons of Anarchy” was a huge surprise in the realm of television, especially for a network like FX. Telling a dark, grim, and very violent tale of brotherly love and family ties (and not only) in the context of a motorcycle club that moonlights in selling drugs and guns, it earned a huge following online, which more than compensated for the utter disdain shown by the Emmys year after year.

Season 7 is also its last and has so far seen the deaths of several leading characters, as fans must know already. This way, the prophecy hinted at in older interviews that “everybody will die” is being slowly fulfilled, but the series finale, “Papa’s Goods,” will deliver the final blows, if at all.

Having it leaked online days before airtime could be a huge blow for the series, but chances are fans will still tune in to see how it plays out, even if they do know the ending in theory. Sutter probably has no reason to worry.

If you want a teaser of what’s to come in “Papa’s Goods” and learn ahead of time who dies, here it is:

Spoiler alert!
Jax Teller dies too. His name is last on that tribute list, right under Unser, Juice, and Gemma’s.
