The first Beta release of the upcoming Kubuntu 13.10 Linux is available for download

The first Beta release of the upcoming Kubuntu 13.10 (Saucy Salamander) Linux operating system has been announced a few minutes ago and it is available for download and testing (see download link below).

Kubuntu 13.10 Beta 1 introduces a brand-new Network Manager applet that provides a simpler user interface for connecting to a range of network types, KDE Telepathy has been enhanced with better text editing and improved notifications, a wireless setup step has been added in the installer.

Being powered by Linux kernel 3.11, Kubuntu 13.10 Beta 1 uses the latest and greatest KDE 4.11 desktop environment, which adds faster Nepomuk indexing and Kontact improvements. Also, the Muon Discover software has been added, providing a friendly way to discover and install applications.

This first Beta release of the upcoming Kubuntu 13.10 Beta 1 introduces support for Xen and KVM virtualization on 64-bit ARM (AArch64) hardware, and a brand-new User Manager utility, which provides a simpler way to manage users on your system.
