The second Alpha version of the upcoming Kubuntu 13.10 (Saucy Salamander) has been launched and now we take a closer look at the changes announced so far.

As usual, the latest version of Kubuntu integrates some of the latest packages, including KDE and Linux kernel.

Highlights of Kubuntu 13.10 Alpha 2 (Saucy Salamander):

• KDE Plasma and Applications have been updated to version 4.11 RC 1: • The Muon Discover tool has been added; • The kernel has been updated to version 3.9.0.7 Ubuntu Linux kernel, which is based on the upstream v3.9.7 Linux kernel.

The final version of Kubuntu is expected to arrive in October, along with all the other Ubuntu-based distributions.

Download Kubuntu 13.10 Alpha 2 (Saucy Salamander) from Softpedia. Remember that this is a development version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
