Kristin Davis Will Design a Charlotte-Inspired Clothing Line

The madness cause by the triumphant big-screen return of the iconic TV show "Sex and the City" is slowly dying down, but if any of us were expecting the four leading ladies to discreetly fade away into the night and quietly enjoy their considerable paychecks, we were wrong. The latest news in the series of "who is going to do what" concerns Kristin Davis, who decided to finally embrace and channel her inner "Charlotte" and come up with her own clothing line for the South Carolina-based retailer Belk. Davis is thus seeking to make sure that the essence of everybody's favorite demurely stylish girl lives on and can easily make its way from the store racks into our closets.

Davis admitted that her designs will mirror Charlotte's sixties and seventies-inspired style, but claims that she will also be using her own clothes as inspiration, which are similar to what Charlotte would wear. "The apparel line is full of A-line skirts and dresses, blouses and other pieces that easily can be taken day to night or casual to evening. The pieces include feminine details like flowers and jewels, and the fabric weights are sensitive to the South's milder climate", reports WWD. Which means that very soon, all the fans of the show will no longer stand in line for a cinema ticket, but rather take road trips southwards to buy Kristin's designs.

Davis on the other hand is displaying enough sense not to design any pony-patterned dresses. Her clothing line will debut in August and will be available in all 307 Belk stores. The clothes will come in sizes 2 to 14 and will be reasonably priced, from $30 to about $240. "I don't even wear a zero, so they're not allowed", Kristin said. Her preference for the South of the US comes because the actress was born in Columbia, South Carolina and used to save her allowance as a young girl in order to shop at Belk. So keep an eye out for Kristin's line and don't miss out on the opportunity to dress up just like your favorite character.
