14 DAY TRIAL // Rupert Sanders and Kristen Stewart were famously caught cheating on their respective partners with each other, when they were photographed making out in her car in a parking lot. The illicit love affair ruined their relationships and, allegedly, his career in Hollywood, but he still can’t get Kristen off his mind.
The two met before starting work on “Snow White and the Huntsman,” which Sanders directed. It was his first big-budget Hollywood film and, if unnamed insiders are to be believed, it will probably be his last for a very long time too because no studio wants to touch him now that he’s ruined the “Twilight” romance.
At the time she cheated with Sanders, Kristen was involved with her “Twilight” co-star Robert Pattinson, who took her back briefly after the scandal but eventually dumped her because he couldn’t move past it.
Insiders are now telling Radar Online that, even though the love affair took place over 2 years ago and despite the fact that it “wrecked” his family, Sanders is still pining away for the younger actress.
“Even though he has admitted to everyone in his life that the long-brewing affair was a terrible idea, he still hasn’t been able to get over his feelings for Kristen. He fell in love with her a long time before he laid a finger on her, and he’s finding it difficult to shake,” notes one tipster.
He and Kristen never broke it off completely and are still in contact, apparently. Every time they speak, he gets new hope and dreams of a future together, the insider states.
“But Kristen has come to her senses and doesn’t want to damage her image more. Rupert definitely lost more in this whole scandal. He’s devastated they can’t be together. Rupert, against all better judgment, still holds out hope that he and Kristen can get things going again, but he’s completely deluded – she would never put her career on the line like that again,” the tipster explains.
Another source claims that Sanders is now “laying low,” looking at other directors who had to bounce back from a major scandal, to learn what could be done to get himself back on the map. Kristen’s career, meanwhile, has not suffered at all from all the controversy and the bad press.
