Kris Jenner’s hopes of becoming a talk show host, a future Oprah in training, have been squashed, at least temporarily. Fox has confirmed that its stations won’t air new episodes of the show Kris, which had a 6-episode trial run last summer.

“Kris will not be on the schedule for the 2014 syndication season,” Stephen Brown, EVP Programming & Development, Fox Television Stations, says in a statement to Deadline.

Not all hope is lost though because, at least for the time being, Fox isn’t ruling out the possibility of bringing Kris or “an additional project” from the Kardashian matriarch on the small screen in the 2015 season.

“[It] is being discussed and highly considered,” Brown says, with Deadline adding that “there is a lot of good will towards Jenner across Fox, including both at Twentieth TV and Fox TV Stations as executives had been impressed by her professionalism, work ethics and personality.”

During the 6-episode trial run, Kris did quite decently in the ratings, but Fox was actually counting on a resounding success, especially since she landed the first exclusive interview with Kanye West on his romance with her daughter Kim Kardashian, and the first exclusive photos of her granddaughter Nori, Kanye and Kim’s child.

If she didn’t get through the roof-type of ratings with this, how could she otherwise, with other topics, was what network bosses told her.
