That Beyonce and Jay Z chose to sit out Kanye West’s nuptials to Kim Kardashian, despite the fact that Jay and Kanye are said to be “like family,” was considered a direct snub to the reality television maven. However, if you ask her mother and manager Kris Jenner, no one really cared that the A-list couple wasn’t in attendance.

The moment Kim and Kanye first stepped out together as a couple, speculation began on whether Beyonce would ever acknowledge Kim and accept her into her exclusive circle of friends. As the wedding date drew nearer, this kind of talk picked up online, particularly after “insiders” vouched that Jay had finally agreed to serve as a best man.

Imagine Kim’s fans’ surprise when, instead of countless pics of Bey, Jay, Kim and Kanye, all they got was an Instagram message of well-wishes, sent by Beyonce before retiring to spend the weekend with her husband and daughter in their Hamptons mansion.

Celebrity pundits rushed to say that this was Beyonce’s way of letting Kim know that, no matter what, she would never be A-list or, at least, that she would never be good enough to hang out with the cool kids, the cool kids here being Beyonce herself and her posse.

If that’s how she really meant it, Kim wasn’t even paying attention, momager Kris says in a new interview with Australian radio station KIIS 106.5 FM. In fact, no one was paying attention to the most notable absentees at the ceremony / wedding weekend, Beyonce and Jay Z.

“There was so much commotion and excitement, I never really gave that a second thought. If you had been there you would have thought that was the last thing on anyone’s mind,” Kris says, adding that, when she found out that the two weren’t coming, she “just assumed they were working.”

Well, you don’t say. It’s entirely up to you if you believe Kris that no one, not even Kim, was upset that Jay and Bey had declined to be there by the newlyweds’ side on their big day. They weren’t the only ones to do so, either: Anna Wintour, Editor-in-Chief at Vogue and Kanye’s friend, also skipped the wedding, as also did Kim’s own brother, Rob Kardashian.

In fact, as you may have heard, the entire wedding, despite costing a fortune and including everything from golden toilets to statues made of black marble and a stone piano, was quite D-list. So, if Kim was aiming for the “wedding of the year” or even of the “decade” title in terms of guests and luxury, she failed on that first count.
