14 DAY TRIAL // As a token of her love for her new husband, Kim Kardashian did the unthinkable yesterday: she added Kanye's family name, West, to her own name on social media handles, making her new stage name Kim Kardashian West.
Now Radar is saying that Kris Jenner, Kim's momager, is very upset at this change that, in her view, besmirches the good Kardashian name. There is no way Kris is going to allow Kim to change her trademark professional name in the long run, and the difference in opinion is said to be causing some dramas.
“There is no way Kris would ever give her blessing for the main cash cow of the Kardashian empire, to not continue to use that name professionally,” claims one source, adding that Kris is determined to fight this thing “tooth and nail.”
In case you didn't know, the Kardashian name is not only attached to the infamous reality show but also to clothing lines, stores, beauty products and everything in between. Can you imagine what it would take to change the name to “Kardashian West”?
This isn't the first time we're hearing these rumors either. Before the couple got married, there was a lot of speculation regarding who would be taking on whose name, and the matter didn't reach a consensus. Moreover, the source is snow saying, “if Kris thought she could get Kanye to change his last name to Kardashian, she absolutely would!”
It's weird that Kris will not relent to her daughter adding he husband's family name, since it did happen before. When Khloe married basketball player Lamar Odom, she had her name legally changed to Khloe Kardashian Odom, and her mother didn't bat an eyelid, but Kim seems to be special.
The matter is up for debate, since it's not known if Kim has legally changed her name. Most likely, she hasn't gotten around to it yet, since she's still enjoying time with her rapper husband in Ireland, on their 5-day honeymoon.
She did, however, find the time to change her Twitter and Instagram handles, which is probably her attempt to see how it sounds and how her mother would react. Well, if the source is reliable, it's safe to say that Kris did not take it very well.
Kris Jenner is known to keep an authoritative position within the clan, ruling over the Kardashians and Jenners with what has been described as “an iron fist.” In fact, it's not difficult to see that she's used to having the final word in the family, after watching just one episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
