This time it wasn't a young, attractive actress that got hacked – it was Kardashian momager Kris Jenner, who has found herself at the center of a high-stakes FBI investigation involving hackers and potential thieves.

Radar reports that Kris has been the target of a hacking attempt and that the effort was part of a larger action conducted by an elaborate criminal ring that was specialized in hacking and intimidating celebrities.

Kris Jenner gets hacked, she calls the FBI

As part of the investigation, the FBI is reported to have already identified a suspect and immediately gone in pursuit, raiding a Four Seasons hotel room on Friday morning and seizing electronic equipment they think was used in the attacks. The warrant they served the suspect was also connected with the death threats Kris Jenner has been receiving lately.

The suspect, an unnamed woman, spoke with the tabloid and claimed she was innocent of the crime. She claims that she had been letting a friend use her computer for the better part of eight months and he went out and sent legit death threats to Kris without her knowledge.

“On Friday morning I was asleep in my hotel room when I heard a knock on the door. I asked who it was and they said FBI,” the woman told Radar of the terrifying event. “I opened the door and was told to turn around, and was handcuffed, facing 12 agents with guns pointed at me,” the suspect said.

A woman is said to be guilty of the crime, she pleads innocence

The suspect was then told that the raid was in connection with Kris Jenner's accounts getting hacked and her receiving genuine death threats. The only thing the woman could say was “I was flabbergasted.”

The FBI confirmed the raid but refused to give details, since they are currently still going ahead with the investigation. They have been carrying out this lead for months before making the raid and they have good evidence indicating that the woman's electronic devices were used in the hacking of Kris Jenner.

“They told me they’d been tracking me and had been building a case. They asked who certain people’s cars were and about people they’d seen me with,” the alleged perpetrator said and added that “I told them it was someone I let use my computer and laptop a lot over the course of eight months.”

It remains to be seen if the woman in question is guilty of the crime, but it's nice to see the FBI are taking hacking seriously. Several other celebrities have had their accounts compromised recently and personal photos leaked on the internet.
