14 DAY TRIAL // Kris Jenner and Bruce Jenner announced their separation almost one year ago, with Kris filing the papers for divorce the other day. Reports online note that attorneys were not involved in the division of assets / divorce settlement and that the split is a truly amicable one.
That’s probably because Bruce is not willing to put up a fight and is giving Kris exactly what she wants, like the right to hold on to the jewelry collection she comprised from his gifts throughout the years and the sizeable engagement ring he presented her with on their 20th wedding anniversary.
Kris Jenner keeps the diamonds
The reality television matriarch and her former Olympian champ have already ironed out all the details of their breakup, having agreed on splitting their joint estate 50-50, as per law.
This means that the estimated $60 million (€46.7 million) they accumulated in their 23 years of marriage, which includes TV earnings and appearance fees (but probably not her commission as manager of all the Kardashian and Jenner girls), will be split in half.
Each gets a house they favor, no questions asked. Kris also gets the jewelry she got from Bruce through the years, including the stunning 20.5-carat ring he gave her on their 20th wedding anniversary, which stood for the engagement ring he didn’t get her when he proposed, Radar Online reports.
In the divorce documents, Kris asks to keep “miscellaneous jewelry and other personal effects” after the split, as well as “earnings and accumulations… from and after the date of separation,” and other property.
The engagement ring is included on that list, the celebrity publication says. It doesn’t offer an estimated price for it, but considering that it’s a custom-made 20.5-carat Lorraine Schwartz bauble, you wouldn’t be wrong to assume that it wasn’t cheap.
In return, Bruce gets his freedom at last
For months before the separation announcement came, there were rumors saying that Bruce had had it with Kris and her super controlling ways. It also bothered him that she insisted on him being a part of the family’s reality show on E!, when he would rather he stayed at home and chilled with no cameras around.
No wonder then that voices online are saying that the only reason he’s giving in to all her demands is that he’s finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel: the promise of freedom. It is believed that he will retire from the spotlight once his contract with E! allows him to, and live out the way he always wanted.
If that’s the case, then handing over the diamonds he bought along the years as presents for his wife is a small price to pay.
