It's been a while since anything of the Kim Kardashian, Kris Humphries divorce made its way online, but that clearly doesn't mean that it's all peachy between the two. In fact, according to a new report, things are starting to heat up again, mostly because of the engagement ring. As some of you gossip lovers might remember, shortly after Kim announced she'd be divorcing Kris after just 72 days, there was a lot of speculation about whether she'd
return the ring he proposed to her with.
Valued at 20.5 carats and $2 million (€1.45 million), the ring was subject to much debate, with some even saying that Kim had bought it while she was still with Reggie Bush and “recycled” it later when Kris proposed to her for show, to boost the ratings of her reality series.
Radar Online says that Kris paid for the ring out of his own pocket and, as such, he wants her to return it even though it was a gift and, as a rule, if the wedding goes through, the woman
gets to keep the bauble after the divorce.
He insists that the marriage was a fraud, proof of which is the fact that it only lasted a mere 72 days, considerably less than it would take a judge to make the divorce final.
Moreover, Humphries is pushing to have the divorce proceedings videotaped and made public, so that the entire world knows what a fake Kim actually is.
“Humphries' divorce lawyers want to depose Kardashian on camera, which the reality TV star is vehemently opposed to,” Radar writes.
“The judge handling the bitter divorce gave the go-ahead for Humphries to depose Kardashian and his lawyers want it to be videotaped, which is routinely done. However, Kim is going to fight any filming of the proceedings,” says the same media outlet.
“Kris wants the ring back because the marriage only lasted 72 days and he believes it was based on fraud and deceit. Remember, Kim filed for divorce. Kris paid for that ring, and he just can't fathom why Kim would want to keep it,” an insider is quoted as saying about the ring. Some time ago, when a reporter asked Kim's mom, Kris Jenner, about the fate of the ring, she said
she would keep it.
Kim herself has never addressed the issue publicly.
Still, “it's not like she is ever going to wear it again,” the insider goes on to say. “Kris realizes that with Kim it's all about material objects and she truly treasures things over people in her life.”
