Kris Humphries still can't believe that Kim Kardashian would give up on the marriage just like that, without actually trying. A new report offers an insight into how he's dealing with the shock of hearing that his marriage is over after just 72 days.
When Kim announced that she'd filed for
divorce from the NBA star, it wasn't just the world that was shocked: Kris too didn't see that coming, so the news took him totally by surprise.
To this day,
OK! Magazine writes after speaking to some of his friends (who refuse to go on the record with their name), Kris still can't believe that his marriage is over.
Admittedly, Kim decided that she wanted out just 2 weeks after the fancy August wedding ceremony. She didn't tell Kris then about it and she didn't tell him when she decided to file for divorce.
“It’s been painful. Kris said that he never thought in a million years she would file for divorce without giving it a chance. He wanted to try. He thought in a few weeks things would be smoothed over,” says one friend.
Then, Kim packed up her stuff, got on a plane to Australia and only when she was out of the country, dropped the bomb on him, via the media: she wanted out.
“All of a sudden, he woke up to a divorce – and then no one would return his calls,” says the insider.
A few days after the announcement, Kim traveled to Minnesota to Kris' home town, which got people talking about how they might be getting back together.
As per the latest report, that visit too came to be at Kris' suggestions to try and work things out. It didn't solve their problems, though.
He's not the only one
suffering though, the report writes.
“Kim is still so sad and is not sure what the future holds for her. She is trying to be strong,” the tipster explains.
On other hand, Kris is still struggling to come to terms with the reality of it.
“He thought Kim would give him a chance to work things out and for the dust to settle. Kris really did love her and he still does,” the insider adds.
