Kris Humphries proposed to Kim Kardashian with a giant, custom-made Lorraine Schwartz diamond ring believed to have cost $2 million (€1.5 million), which he got to keep after the divorce. He’s now auctioning it off, it has emerged.

Much was said about the ring after Kim filed for divorce after just 72 days of marriage, without as much as heads-up for Kris, who found out about it in the media.

Admittedly, Kim wanted to keep it because she felt she was entitled to it but, in the end, she let it go.

The Daily Mail is now reporting that Humphries is looking to sell the bauble and, if possible, recoup some of his losses.

The 20-carat will go under the hammer at an upcoming Christie’s event in New York.

“An ‘impressive’ ring made by Lorraine Schwartz, a designer and Kardashian family friend, is featured as part of the upcoming October 15 auction titled ‘Bright and Beautiful.’ Humphries has not publicly stated that he is selling his ex's ring, and the owner of the item is only listed as the ‘property of a gentleman,’ but the dimensions of the sparkler are the exact same as that of the ring that once belonged to Kardashian,” the British tab writes.

“It is made up of a 16.21-carat rectangular cut diamond which is then flanked by a 1.80-carat diamond on either side,” and will fetch $500,000 (€376,704) at best – considerably less than what Kris is said to have paid for it.

“All told, that adds up to just under 20-carats which is very close to the descriptions of Kardashian's ring, as it was said to be just over 20-carats,” the Mail argues.

The Christie’s photo of the ring shows a bauble identical to the one Kim proudly showed off after she said “yes” to Kris, so, if this is a coincidence, it’s a very surprising one.
