When Kim Kardashian announced her decision to divorce Kris Humphries, many were shocked, saying they hadn't seen a breakup coming. Later reports claimed the second season of Kourtney and Kim Take New York would document the split – and it turns out they were accurate. The third episode of the reality show, a spinoff to E!'s insanely successful Keeping Up with the Kardashians, aired just hours ago and, as
Gawker points out (it also has video with the highlights), it's whatever confirmation we still needed that it is the story of a doomed romance.
Basically, in the third episode, Kim and Kris are already talking about starting a family and having a baby right away, even though they've only been living together for a few weeks.
Kris, at first, is taken aback when he hears that Kim is already telling him she wants to have children, but he's slowly talked into admitting it would be a good idea.
However, the two
are fighting in almost no time, since they can't seem able to agree on where to live: Kris would like to raise his kids in Minnesota, but Kim is hell-bent on not living LA.
Similarly, she doesn't want to “slow down” to have a family, even if Kris tells her that she should start thinking about it because he doesn't want his children to grow up in the company of a nanny.
“But then Kim realizes having a family would require she actually care about someone other than herself/her career for once, and the thought of that – exacerbated by an argument during which Kris tells her that 'no one will probably care about [her]' by the time they have kids, anyway – proves too much for our selfish little snowflake,” Gawker writes of the events included in the latest KKTNY episode.
In the end, without as much as telling Kris, Kim decides she doesn't want to have a family with him and she goes back on the pill.
During a phone conversation, she can be heard saying she will inform him “when the time is right,” which, clearly, is not now.
Given the events presented in the latest episode, it's no wonder voices online are already saying there's no doubt the signs were there all along: Kim realized she made a mistake marrying Kris a while back, shortly after the wedding.
