Following an intensely mediated pregnancy, Kourtney Kardashian has just welcomed a baby boy this Monday, at Cedars Sinai in Los Angeles. Initially due to give birth on December 23, the reality star decided to change the date – both mother and child are healthy and doing well, the New York Daily News reports.

“There’s another Kardashian member to keep up with! Kourtney Kardashian welcomed her first child with boyfriend Scott Disick early Monday morning, E! News and Life & Style jointly reported. ‘Kourtney just delivered a healthy baby boy about an hour ago,’ the new mom’s publicist confirmed,” the publication says. Mom and son are still in hospital, although it’s not known for how much longer that would be.

“Mason Dash Disick was born in a Los Angeles-area hospital, weighing 7 pounds, 6 ounces, and measuring 19 1/2 inches long. Fans of the family’s reality show, ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians,’ may notice the baby boy’s middle name is in fact the same as the family’s chain of boutiques. It is the first child for the couple, who reportedly broke up in January after Kardashian, 30, had suspicions that Disick, 26, was unfaithful. However, the couple reunited soon after finding out they were expecting,” NY Daily News further informs.

Although initially Kourtney had serious doubts about whether to keep the child or not, especially given speculation that Disick had been unfaithful to her, she later decided in favor of being a mom. In subsequent media interviews, she spoke of her pregnancy sometimes in excruciating detail and even said that she couldn’t be happier when she found out she was having a boy, since one “is definitely needed in this family,” as she put it.

After finding out they were expecting, Kourtney and Scott got back together; while the official announcement of the pregnancy came in August this year. As of now, the couple has no plans to marry – if they do decide on this being the next step, rest assured you’ll find out about it here.
