14 DAY TRIAL // Only a few days after word that Kourtney Kardashian was pregnant with her third child by longtime partner Scott Disick, in a totally sneaky move, producers of the family’s E! reality series have changed the teaser video released to include an official confirmation of the happy news.
The first teaser was released over the weekend and included the usual Kardashian family stuff that fans of Keeping Up with the Kardashians had come to expect (some fighting, lots of tears, some yelling, the works), with bonus footage from Kim’s wedding preparations.
The video below, which is also branded a “season 9 supertease” and which seems to be the same video as the one we saw over the weekend, is actually different, in that it contains confirmation of Kourtney’s pregnancy, at around the 30-second mark.
You see Kourtney looking at Scott and telling him “I’m pregnant,” with his reaction to this being “Whaat?! Holy [expletive]!” When Kourtney breaks the news to momager Kris Jenner, she tells her that “this was not planned,” but Kris finds it “amazing” either way.
The initial report said that Kourtney had gone off the pill a long time ago and that she had planned to get pregnant again. There were even some hints that she might have done this without telling Scott about her plans first.
This segment wasn’t included in the original trailer and might have been shot a long time after shooting for the season wrapped because, according to reports, Kourtney wasn’t pregnant then, before the family vacation in Thailand.
Kourtney and Scott have been an item since 2007 and have 2 children together, Mason and Penelope. Mason is 5 and Penelope is almost 2, and Kourtney never made a secret of her desire to have more children, even though Scott still feels conflicted about the idea.
Production on season 9 of KUWTK has ended, but fans won’t have to wait that long to see how Kourtney is doing during her third pregnancy. Right now, she and sister Khloe are shooting a spinoff in the Hamptons and it’s probably a very safe bet to say that upcoming episodes will also focus on the pregnancy.
Considering that, earlier this year, there were countless wedding rumors making the rounds, perhaps fans will also get an inside look at that as well: if not at the actual plans (because, as far as we know, Kourtney and Scott are not engaged), at least at whatever discussions take place behind closed doors between these two on their plans of getting hitched.
Kourtney and Scott’s occasional stormy relationship has been one of the major plotlines throughout all seasons of the show. In fact, they broke up several times and he even got to propose to her a couple of times, but was turned down.
Who knows, maybe a third child will finally get them to take that final leap towards the aisle and become a family in all senses of the word. Their fans would certainly love it if it happened.
