I am not sure how many of you know that printers are among the most power hungry devices found in today's office environments, but Konica Minolta is set to challenge that with the energy efficient magicolor 3730DN A4 color printer that promises to deliver high quality color output in an ultra-compact size.

And compact this truly is, as Knoca Minolta's offering measures just 419x520x346mm although that certainly doesn't mean the company had to skimp on speed or reliability as taking a look at its 120,000 page monthly duty cycle quickly reveals to us.

And since I mentioned speed, I will tell you this actually manages to print at up to 25ppm, the magicolor 3730DN also featuring an integrated auto-duplex printing system as well as a 2400x 600 resolution image quality, Konica Minolta’s smart calibration system further improving prints with optimal color quality.

Furthermore, this is actually Energy Star compliant, its maximum power consumption coming in at “only” 1000W, less than other printers in its class according to the company, the proprietary Simitri HD color polymerized toner, made from Biomass, having a lower environmental impact compared to conventional toners, making this an environmentally friendly printer.

“The magicolor 3730DN further expands upon our family of A4 color printers by providing customers with a full range of products and solutions to fit a variety of office environments,” said Kevin Kern, Senior Vice President, Marketing, Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A.

“As customers continue to assess their print fleet for optimal performance and productivity, Konica Minolta will continue to market products ensuring customers can count on Konica Minolta for their digital imaging needs as well as their concerns for energy-compliance and environmental responsibility.”

Compatible with Widows as well as Mac OS X, this printer is available starting right now at a yet undisclosed price.
