14 DAY TRIAL // Konami with PunchBox Studios have released Contra: Evolution, a remake of one of the most popular side-scrolling shooters ever released.
“The epic ACT game is back in high definition! ‘Contra: Evolution’ will bring players back to the most traditional shooting game through the authentic stage and story of 1988 FC platform Contra,” say the publishers.
In addition to the original hero duo that old-school gamers should well be accustomed to, the remake sports two new female characters with different attack moves, according to the makers.
Contra: Evolution sells for $0.99/€0.89 and is compatible with pretty much all iPhone and iPod touch models. Tablets aren’t natively supported yet (no word on whether they’re working to bridge this gap), and the game only needs iOS 4.3 to run.
