Konami is announcing that it plans to re-release some of the videogames that it has put out for the PlayStation Portable from Sony. The concept Konami is pioneering is to offer two different games in one package for the low price of just 19.99 dollars. The publisher aims to offer this type of package for quite some time and the first two pairings are Metal Gear Solid-based. Portable Ops will be bundled with Silent Hill: Origins and then with Coded Arms.

Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops is part of the highly successful MGS series and follows Snake (not to be confused with Solid Snake), also known as Big Boss, as he creates a new elite unit of agents and as FOXHOUND battles it out with the original FOX. Portable Ops introduces a very interesting team mechanics to the series. Basically, it means that all players can defeat and then capture the characters that they meet in the game, putting them to work. Each character is rated in ten attributes and some of them are better at healing, some better at intelligence work, while some should be in charge of creating new items. This system offers a lot of re-playability for Portable Ops.

Sillent Hill: Origins is a survival horror game that puts you in the role of Travis Grady, a trucker who stumbles on the scary town, which provided a backdrop for the game series. Grady is not looking for anyone and, seeing the town, is interested in getting out as soon as possible but many events from his past haunt him. The game introduces the “Cineractive System” that changes the control scheme depending on the situation in order to create a more horrifying yet interactive experience. One of the highlights of the game is the soundtrack, created by Akira Yamaoka, the man responsible for the music of all the releases in the series.

The bundle featuring Portable Ops and Silent Hill seems to be more attractive than the second one, which substitutes Silent Hill with Coded Arms, a first person shooter set inside a virtual reality system where you need to fight hordes after hordes of aliens.
