A Metal Gear Solid 5 logo, which was supposedly seen at the San Diego Comic Con, has been revealed as a fake by publisher Konami.
The official Twitter account of the company first said, “Fake or real, we love a bit of speculation!” but then added that, “Seriously, just in case the #pinch #salt hashtags weren’t enough – the chap who claims to have set up the fake rumours has been in touch.”
Platinum Games is now working on Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, which is set to star Raiden as the main character and will be launched at some point during 2013.
The Hideo Kojima lead team inside Konami is also rumored to be working on a full-fledged Metal Gear Solid 5, stealth-based and focused on Solid Snake, which might be launched in 2014 for next-generation consoles.
The company has not made an official announcement linked to the game.
