The development team at Konami working on Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 is ready to offer more details on the game and it seems that their main overall aim is to create an experience that brings a true representation of the sport.

Kei Masuda, a creative producer working on the football simulation, is quoted by NeoGAF as stating, “we are confident that they will see a game no longer limited by technology, but capable of growing with them and constantly surprising with the breath-taking quality they have to come to expect from the real thing.”

The developer says that the game is powered by the new Fox Engine that Kojima has created for its Metal Gear Solid and is now sharing with other Konami teams.

Apparently, about 70 percent of the work on PES 2014 is done and all promotional materials are taken directly from the game in order to make sure that fans are not mislead by marketing claims.

Masuda adds, “Our new engine and systems are dedicated to the current generation of platforms, which will continue to be dominant in the market, but are fully scalable for future versions.”

Pro Evolution Soccer has had a healthy rivalry with the FIFA franchise from EA Sports for many years.

The Konami property has failed to impress in the last few years, both in terms of quality and of sales.

The development team says that the new engine allows it to introduce new mechanics to this year’s version, with a focus on emotion and on key moments when superstar players can take charge of a match to produce impressive plays.

Konami has not mentioned a launch date for PES 2014 and the new sport title will be offered on the PC, the PlayStation 3 from Sony, the Xbox 360 from Microsoft and the PlayStation Portable.
