Konami Digital Entertainment Inc., the publisher that is probably best known for publishing the Metal Gear Solid series, has announced that it is working with musterbrand LLC in order to create a complete clothing line based upon the video game Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, which was launched exclusively on the PlayStation Portable in 2010.

The collection is set to be launched in the United States and in Canada starting with April 11 and will allow fans of the long-running series to dress in Metal Gear Solid clothes from head to toe.

Careen Yapp, who is the vice president of acquisitions and franchise development at Konami Digital Entertainment Inc, has stated when the announcement was made, “Our partnership will give fans the opportunity to 'suit up' for one of the most successful video game franchises of all time, specifically for METAL GEAR SOLID: PEACE WALKER.”

She added, “The mass success and support for our latest METAL GEAR SOLID hit has allowed us to expand beyond what we've done in the past with the series, and we are very much looking forward to offering this new line to a global community of fans.”

All the included sweatshirts, pants, coats, t-shirts and hats will have well-known imagery linked to Peace Walker and will be of the highest quality.

Musterbrand is specialized in taking virtual worlds and digital entertainment franchises and creating real world products based around them, a business segment that is expected to grow as virtual space becomes more important for the modern customer.

The two companies are also preparing more items that will be released in 2011, presumably as Konami makes new announcement linked to Metal Gear Solid.

At the moment Konami is preparing to develop Metal Gear games for the new Nintendo 3DS and the upcoming PlayStation Portable 2 from Sony and the company is also working on a new game for home consoles, starring Raiden.
