14 DAY TRIAL // Konami has announced that fans of the Metal Gear Solid series will be able to purchase its Metal Gear Solid Touch iPhone game at a discount during August 13-15, when the game will be downloadable for just $2.99 on the App Store.
Konami is one of the world’s best-known developers and manufacturers of electronic entertainment properties. The company’s games include the Metal Gear Solid franchise, but also horror-survival titles like Silent Hill, the music game DanceDanceRevolution, the famous Castlevania series and others.
Metal Gear Solid Touch for iPhone and iPod touch is a stripped-down version of the PlayStation 3 title, MGS 4: Guns of the Patriots. Gameplay is handled via a multi-touch interface, with the player being able to slide a finger for aiming, use gestures for zooming in and out, and tap for firing weapons and performing actions. Konami says that Metal Gear Solid Touch features diverse battles and intuitive touch shooting controls for iPhone and iPod touch users, having been based on the top-selling franchise that pioneered the stealth-action genre.
"We wanted to give both old Metal Gear Solid fans and newcomers alike the ability to experience the game and explore the series in the most cost efficient manner," said Anthony Borquez, vice president of Konami Mobile and Online. "In today's economy, gamers are looking for ways to stretch their entertainment dollars more than ever, and with a $2.99 Metal Gear Solid pricepoint on the iPhone and iPod touch platforms, their entertainment dollars can go a long way."
Konami has about seven applications currently listed in the App Store, two of which are free. One of those free apps is the Lite version of MGS Touch, which you can download using the second link below.
