Hideo Kojima, the man behind the Metal Gear Solid franchise, has made it clear that the newly announced Ground Zeroes video game has no connection to Project Ogre, a game that has long been rumored but has not received any official information.

Hideo Kojima has stated, via Twitter that, “While I am happy to know people liked “MGS Ground Zeroes”, I’m sick & tired of people keep asking me like “is that project Ogre?” here in Seattle everyday. Project Ogre is what the project that Ogre appears. Ogre does not appear in “MGS Ground Zeroes” trailer.”

Project Ogre is set to use the new Fox Engine and Kojima has previously said that the game will be very different from everything that he has created.

Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes is the new core game in the series, set to offer the same core stealth experience as previous titles, in contrast to the Platinum Games made Revengeance.
