Will Snake creep into our houses at Christmas time?

Those lucky gaming news editors and MGS fans that got to play the MGS 4 surely won't forget the experience soon. However, they must have felt frustrated by the fact that the title's demo was only available in Japanese. Sensing this, Kojima Productions has started working on an English version of the Metal Gear Solid 4 and we hope to download it from the Xbox Live at Christmas time.

Japanese sure didn't scare me and many other gamers while playing Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII on the PSP, but the action's not so basic and we all know how important the MGS dialogs usually are. It's about time we saw a MGS 4 demo since the wait seems infernally long till the launch date. The bad news is that usually the Xbox Live demos surface at most a month before the game's release, so it's not going to make much of a difference.

However, if at Christmas time 2007 we'll be playing the Final Fantasy XIII and MGS 4 demos, we can call Kojima Productions and Square-Enix our official Santa. Snake sounds divine in Japanese, so it'll be tough to find an English-speaking actor to suit his tone and emotions, but things worked out pretty well in the previous installments in the series. Seriously speaking, emotions and atmosphere play a vital role in Kojima's masterpiece, setting apart this game from the average stealth action we've played in Splinter Cell titles.

Who's willing to bet that in the first hours of the English demo's release, the Xbox Live and PSN' servers will break down, being overloaded with fans eager to play Kojima's blockbuster? The same goes for many other console hits, getting ready to land in their demo version. ProStreet mania anyone or maybe a taste of Resident Evil 5?
