Hideo Kojima, the creator of the Metal Gear Solid series, says that the upcoming The Phantom Pain aims to deliver photorealistic graphics quality when it launches, all based on the power of the Fox Engine.

He states via Twitter that, “In fact we're aiming photo-realistic graphic quality in MGSV but once Snake comes in that frame, such reality get lost.”

At the same time Kojima says that the Fox Engine is designed to make the world the player explains very believable, even if the action that Snake executes alter its reality.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is the first title in the series to use open world mechanics and will allow gamers to use the classic gameplay mechanics of the series, build mainly around stealth.

The game is expected to arrive in 2014 on the PC, the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4 and current gen consoles.
