A prototype of the device has been spotted with the maker recently

About a month ago, we learned that the Kogan Agora and Kogan Agora Pro were indefinitely delayed, and the news certainly made a lot of enthusiasts sad at that time. For what it's worth, it seems that the Australian maker has been working hard on updating the devices so as to be more feature-compatible with the Android operating system.

It seems that the company allowed the guys at Gizmodo Australia to take a look at the handset's prototype, although some suggest that it is actually the first Agora prototype, mainly due to the fact that the newer version should sport full touchscreen capabilities.

“The final release model will almost certainly ditch the qwerty keypad for a 3.8-inch, iPhone like touchscreen which will take advantage of the cupcake update’s onscreen keypad. The phone will also definitely run Android,” say the guys from Gizmodo.

According to them, the prototype looked well enough, although the software was a little bit slow, but, given the fact that it was probably a pre-production version, that would be understandable. On the other hand, they also say that the keyboard, provided that the final release will sport it, does not compare to the comfortable one featured by a Blackberry Bold, yet the prices of the handsets are different as well.

Moreover, the Kogan Agora seems to resemble Samsung Blackjack a little, while the Android platform has similarities with the one running on HTC Dream. For what it's worth, the handset has its own unique touches as well, and the final version is expected to be different from the prototype seen now. At the same time, it is a rather great thing that the project isn't dead and that we'll see the phone developed and released to the market, although the company has not unveiled any possible launch date so far.
