A new development milestone of Kodu is now available for download, enhanced with new capabilities designed to make it easier to share the worlds created with Microsoft’s visual programming language for games. Early adopters already testing Kodu, will be able to download Build 1.0.111.0 for the PC and leverage the new Community option on the Main Menu.

“The Community allows you to share worlds with other Kodu users. The UI works just like the normal Load Level Menu except you now have more options:

- Download - Downloads the world from the server to your machine.

- Like - Give this level a thumbs up. Note you can only vote on levels you have downloaded.

- Flag Abuse - If the level has anything offensive please use this option to flag the level. Flagged levels will get removed from the server and reviewed offline,” revealed a member of the Kodu team.

Kodu Build 1.0.111.0 simplifies the manner in which game developers can share the content they built with the Community. For this to happen they need to select the Share option from the Load Level Menu.

“As part of this change we also allow you to set your Creator Name when you save a file. Be sure to set the Tags for your level so everyone will have an easier time finding the kind of levels they are looking for,” the Kodu team representative added.

The English, French, German and Polish localizations of Kodu are already live, and Spanish users will also be getting the Kodu update in their language soon.

In addition to the new sharing capabilities, Kodu Build 1.0.111.0 comes with a range of bug fixes, and has been improved in order to be better used in classroom scenarios.

“If all the classrooms PC's have their storage directed to a common drive we now can differentiate the Autosave files so that users no longer lose work. We also fixed a bug that caused Kodu to crash if the My Documents folder was redirected to a network share. This should work smoothly now,” the Kodu team member added.
