Kobo is known mostly by digital readers because of its eReaders. Now the company is looking to extend its range of products and has pulled the veil off the Android-based Kobo Arc in the Indian market, says FoneArena.

It offers some pretty mainstream specifications, but as a bonus Kobo bundles its eReading app and the option to tap into its extensive library of eBooks, so online readers looking to add a few extra functionalities to their average eReader might want to take a look here.

The Kobo Arc features a 7-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 and 178 viewing angle. It has also been designed to endure pretty much everything the environment throws at is, thanks to its ultra-durable glass that can’t be damaged and its anti-scratch, bump or drop feats.

Power comes from a 1.5GHz Dual-Core Ti OMAP processor with 1GB of RAM. There’s three internal storage options to choose from: 16GB, 32GB or 64GB. Integrated dual stereo speakers with Dolby Digital Plus audio engine plus its built-in-front speakers ensure a versed audio experience.

Kobo promises up to 10 hours of continuous eBook reading or video streaming, with the Wi-Fi turned off.

The Kobo Arc will become available throughout India through Kobo partners like Crossword, WHSmith or Croma. It comes in two variants, blue and purple with a price tag of Rs 11,999 / $195 / €144, but Kobo offers it at a better price until November 3. So if you want a Kobo tablet in your life, now is the time to get one for Rs 9,999 / $162 / €120. Kobo will also add some eBook offers in the bundle as well.
