Let's just forget how much one needs to pay in order to have a decent work experience with the MacBook Air and address those who really want one out of love for Apple products, yet can't afford it just yet. How does knocking $489.717 (in Pounds Sterling) off the Air's price sound? Sounds good, I reckon, so here's how you can benefit from this offer.

What, you didn't actually think there wasn't going to be a small catch, did you? Found this piece of news via reghardware.co.uk, who say that if you want a MacBook Air for ?949, all you need to do is "pop over to PC World's website and order the skinny Apple and an HSDPA wireless broadband package from carrier 3." In return, the retailer will drop the Air's price by ?250.

With 3's new Mobile Broadband service you can access the Internet without wires, over the air using 3's mobile network. There is no need to be in a Wi-Fi hotspot, you simply use a USB modem with your laptop. To celebrate the launch of Three Mobile Broadband at PC World we have put together some amazing deals on laptops when you subscribe to a Mobile Broadband contract from 3. In fact, you could save up to ?350 off the normal in-store price of your laptop, says 3.

Don't get excited. The real catch is yet to come. To get the ?250 discount, you'll need to pay ?35 a month for the next 18 months, which adds up to a total of ?630 that 3 grabs from you in the end, adding it to the ?949 you've previously payed for the fancy laptop. And since we're on the down side already, it would only be fair to also mention that there's also a 3GB data-transfer limit a month, according to the terms of the deal.

While 3's HSDPA network delivers 2.8Mb/s, the USB modem (pictured above, and no that's not the Air hooked to it), along with the SIM card, come bundled with the laptop for free.

The deal starts on February 11, if you're not the pre-order type. If you are, you can grab that Air for ?949 right now!
