Sony has confirmed that Knack, its upcoming family-friendly action game for the PlayStation 4, will have a special local cooperative mode that allows another player to join the main one and control a silver robot version of the main protagonist, Knack.

The PlayStation 4 has many different launch-day games, and among them is Knack, an action adventure game that sees players control a creature called Knack who can expand his body using artifacts he finds in the game's levels.

In order to enhance the family-friendly nature of Knack, Sony has confirmed, via Joystiq, that the campaign can support another player via a local cooperative mode.

The second player will control a robot version of Knack and can help the main player in different situations by deploying powers or donating some of his parts.

More details about the drop-in drop-out cooperative mode for Knack should appear soon enough.
