Here is a piece of news that proves that, contrary to what dogs secretly hope and pray for every waking hour, cats really do have nine lives.

Thus, The Inquisitr tells us that a kitten in the United States traveled over a distance of about 30 miles (about 48.3 kilometers) hidden inside a car engine and lived to meow the tale.

Information shared with the public says that the car the young cat traveled in belongs to one Jim Michelotti, who now lives in the state of California.

Talking to the press, the man explained that, when he left his home, he had no idea he was carrying a furry passenger. It was only when he stopped at a gas station that he heard the kitten and found it.

When Jim Michelotti laid eyes on her, the young kitten was all greased up and absolutely terrified. However, there was no sign that the bumpy ride had caused it any injuries.

To top it all up, media reports say that the sight of the scared and greased up kitten made such an impression on Jim Michelotti that the man decided to adopt it.

For the time being, it is unclear how it was that the kitten ended up inside Jim Michelotti's car. Still, chances are that the young cat sought refuge inside the engine after being abandoned by its previous owner.
