Since they appeared on the show, they’ve been through hell

Amy Bouzaglo restrains husband Samy from attacking patron outside restaurant

Samy and Amy Bouzaglo appeared on Gordon Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares in 2013, and since then, they’ve been forced to cope with a lot of negative stuff, including hecklers coming to their Baking Company restaurant to give them hell, hoping to get a rise out of them.

It all escalated pretty quickly the other day, when one patron got just what he’d been asking for, and Samy flipped and chased him outside on the pavement, armed with a knife and threatening to kill him.

TMZ has video of the strange and violent scene.

Patron was drunk, picked on Amy and Samy was defending her honor

In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, Amy Bouzaglo, who founded the Baking Company in Scottsdale, Ariz., with her husband, insists that the video doesn’t reflect the reality of what happened.

In the clip, you see a furious Samy go after someone off camera, as Amy is desperately trying to restrain him, screaming at him that “it’s not worth it” and trying to physically block his advance. Samy is holding something in one of his hands, with TMZ identifying the object as a knife – which would mean he was threatening the patron with his life.

Towards the end, Amy manages to talk sense into her husband and he gets to lay off the pursuit. What we didn’t see in the video, she explains for THR, is the patron’s taunts, as well as the fact that he was heavily inebriated.   There are two sides to every story, she claims: the patron picked on her and started screaming obscenities in her direction, which is when Samy “screamed at him to leave.” He did leave, but he “came back and charged at me,” which is when Samy cut in.

Infamous TV couple maintains the bullying has to stop

The video isn’t proof that Samy has a very volatile temper, as some would have you believe, Amy insists. She’s sick of hearing that same story over and over again, when the reality is that they’ve been bullied a lot in the months since their TV appearance.   People like this drunk man always come in and try to provoke them into doing or saying something, knowing that this could mean their ticket to 15 minutes of guaranteed fame.   “We've been bullied and harassed and victimized,” Amy explains. “We're just trying to continue on with our lives and work and have a decent living.”   Moreover, she adds, that wasn’t a knife in Samy’s hand: he was holding a silver pen, which he probably forgot to put down when he chased after the drunk guy who tried to assault his wife.

The Bouzaglos are like the little boy who cried “wolf”

There are indeed two sides to every story, but the Bouzaglos have lost all credibility when they tried to save face from their disastrous TV appearance with an epic Facebook rant that included the profession that Amy “Wonder Woman” and Samy will, one day, “get all of you.”   They later claimed that the Facebook rant was the work of a hacker and that police were investigating the case, but there was little evidence to back that up.   Because they claimed then that they were victims of a bigger plot meant to soil their reputation and did such a poor job at lying, they’re less convincing than they’d like when they say they’ve been bullied all along.   No word yet if an investigation has been launched in this new, near-attack.
