Will only come out in September

Hearing that a company or another has decided to delay the launch of one of its products doesn't usually come as a good sign, which means that Kingston is unlikely to be very pleased with its current predicament. Granted, no official announcement was made, but the folks over at OCWorkbench reported that a certain SSD is getting pushed back. The solid state drive in question is the first of the HyperX line and sill supposedly be delayed by a month.

The first time anyone heard of the HyperX Kingston SSD was in early June, when it first showed up on display at Kingston's Computex booth in Taipei. When it did, it immediately caught the eyes of onlookers, particularly through tis HyperX branding. Until then, only memory products composed that series. Needless to say, HyperX was meant to suggest the performance of the storage device. Furthermore, the casing of the unit is even colored blue, to keep the same theme and feel as the RAM.

The product was more or less unique because it was an external 2.5-inch unit that used the SuperSpeed USB 3.0 interface. At its best, the unit actually reached transfer speeds of 195 MB/s when reading and 160MB/s when writing. Such speed would be impressive even for an internal drive compatible with the SATA interface. Unfortunately, end-users may have to wait for longer than they hoped if they plan to acquire an electronic like this.

Basically, Kingston will no longer release it in August, even though that was the initial plan. At least, this is what the aforementioned report states. Instead, it will wait until September and make it available just in time for the back-to-school period. Three versions will be on sale, with 64GB, 128GB and 256GB capacities, respectively. Unfortunately, pricing details are still unavailable.
