Kingston technology, the world's leading vendor of memory products, has just announced the introduction of its new DataTraveler 200 (DT200) line of USB Flash drive, including the world's first 128GB USB Flash drive. With the release of this large-capacity USB flash drive, users can take advantage of an increased storage capacity in a small and ultraportable form factor, which can easily fit any pocket. In addition, Kingston has designed its new DataTraveler products to include a password protection system, enabling data to be stored securely on this ultraportable storage solution.

“The new DT200’s robust storage capability lets consumers store complete libraries of music, photos and videos. It is also a great tool for business users who carry around large databases or files,” said Andrew Ewing, USB business manager, Kingston. “The password protection helps safeguard data and requires no admin rights, making the DT200 a terrific solution for the home or office.”

According to Kingston, its new USB DataTraveler 200 flash drive has been featured with a capless design and has been optimized for Windows ReadyBoost. The new series of high-capacity USB sticks will be available in storage capacities of 32GB, 64GB and 128GB. Measuring just 2.77" x 0.49" x 0.89", the new DT200 from Kingston is as easy to use as any other USB flash drive, but with the added value delivered by the increased storage space. In addition, the new flash drives are delivered with bundled Password Traveler security software for the Windows operating system, providing more security for your digital content.

Unfortunately, increased storage capacity for USB sticks will remain a commodity for those who can afford it, as these new drives are anything but cheap. The DT2200 comes at an MSRP of US$120 and is available in Blue and Black colors, while the high-capacity model, the DT 200 128GB Black Flash drive, is expected to become available for an MSRP of US$546.
