Of the multiple types of memory cards on the market, CompactFlash cards are among the most capacious and speedy, so Kingston just went ahead and created one that actually supports UDMA mode 6, the CompactFlash Ultimate 600x.

Though they can be used in a whole variety of electronics, CompactFlash cards truly shine when placed inside professional digital cameras and camcorders.

This is because they have both a high enough capacity and fast enough writing speeds that can keep up with continuous shots and HD video recording.

The CompactFlash Ultimate 600x card that Kingston prepared supports UDMA mode 6 and can scribe data at up to 90 MB/s, essentially making it worthy of being called Kingston's fastest card.

There are two capacities, 16 GB and 32 GB, each with a price of $154 and $270, respectively and measuring 1.43" x 1.68" x 0.13" (36.4mm x 42.8mm x 3.3mm).

“The Kingston CF Ultimate 600x cards are great for photographers shooting in burst mode,” said Mike Kuppinger, Flash card product manager, Kingston.

“For example, in a situation like a wedding or sporting event where the ability to rapidly take successive shots could make the difference between capturing the perfect shot or just missing it,” he added.

“We are pleased to add the 600x card to our CompactFlash family of products which also includes the 266x Ultimate and 133x Elite Pro cards,” Kuppinger went on to saying.

The CompactFlash Ultimate 600x has an operating temperature of 32° to 140° F (0° to 60° C) and a storage temperature of -4° to 185° F (-20° to 85° C).

It also complies with CompactFlash Association specification standards and boasts an autosleep mode, which preserves battery life.

What's more, the card is plug and play-ready and users can download a data recovery software from MediaRECOVER.
