It should work fine with both Mac OS X and Windows

Storage devices equipped with a security feature or technology usually cost a lot more than their normal counterparts, and this is true for the new Kingstom DataTraveler Locker + G2, though not to the same extent as for most. The company advertises the product as a lower priced model than other DataTraveler Locker flash devices, and we suppose that the $18-82 price range fits the description.

To elaborate, the DataTraveler Locker+ G2 is shipping in 4 GB, 8 GB, 16 GB and 32 GB, for $18 / 14-18 Euro, $21 / 16-21 Euro, $37 / 28-37 Euro and $82 / 63-70 Euro.

All four options get hardware encryption, password protection and the ability to lock down and reformat after 10 failed login attempts. All this happens without the need for an application to be installed.

“Data security for consumers is simple and affordable with the new DataTraveler Locker+ G2. The data encryption makes this the perfect custom USB drive to keep your information safe and out of strangers’ hands in case it ever gets lost,” said Andrew Ewing, Flash memory business manager, Kingston.

“Users can take their data between Mac and PC systems with ease, and also safely store login information to websites with the included password manager.”

It is interesting to note that Kingston DataTraveler Locker+ G2 doesn't need to be exclusively restricted to a single user. The Password Manager can, in fact, store account information for up to 20 people.

Add to that the stylish metal casing, the built-in key loop and the data transfer speed of 10 MB/s and 5 MB/s (read/write) and there isn't much reason for worried people to not buy it if they're in the market for one.

The only drawback is that the SuperSpeed USB 3.0 interface is not supported, but at least this sacrifice sheared some of the price off.
