Hardcore enthusiasts will always do whatever it takes in order to get their hands on the latest and fastest CPUs, memory product and graphics cards, but there are many more end-users who have similar goals but lack the financial means to achieve them. Fortunately, hardware makers are always mindful of this market segment, especially since it is a healthy source of revenues, and Kingston has come to once again affirm this fact by showing off its newest collection of entry-level memory kits.

The collection that Kingston has put together goes by the name of HyperX 'blu' and, besides 1GB and 2GB modules of 800MHz, includes products with clock speeds of up to 1,600MHz. At the end of the list sit a 1.8V module of 1GB (800MHz) and CL5-5-5-15 timings.

On top is a 1,600MHz dual-channel XMP-optimized low voltage (1.65V) kit of two 2GB modules, for a total of 4GB. In between, there is a 2GB 800MHz DDR2 module, as well as 2GB or 4GB DDR3 kits of 1,333MHz or 1,600MHz.

"The enthusiast community knows the HyperX name is synonymous with high speed, high quality and stylish design. HyperX blu enables us to bring these features to market at a lower price point," said Vincent Kim, HyperX product manager, Kingston. "blu is the latest addition to the HyperX family in our ongoing strategy to match HyperX products with the various enthusiast market segments."

All Kingston HyperX memory products are backed by a lifetime warranty and are already available. They are all compliant with JEDEC specifications and boast the obligatory HyperX heatspreader, albeit with a new look.

As for pricing, the 800MH 1GB module costs only $31, whereas the 4GB 1333MHz XMP kits sell for $143. What is interesting is that the 4GB 1600MHz kit is cheaper, at $132. Full information may be found on the company's official website.
