There are multiple things that can enable a product to stand out from the rest of its kind, and it looks like Kingmax went for more than one less than ordinary trait when it built its latest SDXC memory card.

Memory cards are one of the determining factors in the performance of such things as video or photo cameras, as well as any electronic with a means to take still shots or continuous videos.

This is because it not only dictates just how much can be saved on the device, but also the speed, meaning that cameras capable of high-resolutions need fast cards that can write such a large influx of data fast enough.

The newest SDXC (Secure Digital eXtended Capacity) model from Kingmax definitely has high specifications, but that is not all that makes it appealing.

To make it appealing, although a price premium will be involved, the company made the product both dustproof and waterproof.

In other words, it is versatile and enduring enough to play its part when placed inside devices subject to less than stellar environmental conditions, although, true enough, those same devices usually have a level of ruggedness of their own.

As for the actual level of performance, files can be read at up to 65 MB/s, while writing tasks are accomplished at up to 40 MB/s.

In other words, Kingmax created a Class 10-rated memory card that can survive underwater and is formatted in exFAT (Extended File Allocation Table).

ECC (Error Correction Code) and wear-leveling capabilities are also present, as RoHS compliance and support for CPRM multimedia content protection (Content Protection for Recordable Media).

All the above are crammed inside a package measuring 24mm (W) x32mm (L) x2.1mm (T) and weighing 2.1g.

Unfortunately, while a press release has been provided, the outfit decided not to disclose any sort of pricing or availability details.
