The iPhone is a great gaming platform, everyone can agree on that. The device uses multitouch, as well as motion-sensitivity which, combined, make the most intuitive control scheme for any title, be it a ported one. While Kingdom Lores makes good use of just one of the respective capabilities (namely, the touchscreen), the 3D fantasy game developed by Marco Giorgini manages to impress quite a bit. Click HERE to grab it, but know that Kingdom Lores requires a jailbroken device. Softpedia doesn't encourage installing applications that require a jailbroken iPhone.

Marco Giorgini's fantasy game for the iPhone is based on a new 3D engine created from scratch. "It's basically a true 3D octree based engine - that uses OpenGLES. I'm writing it from zero," the developer reveals on his blog. He also assures those picking up on his freebie app that "things will be added one by one." He adds that "this is the reason - for instance - of its slowness (at moment) compared to Yeti3D games."

The developer also assures that his fantasy game (currently in Alpha) will be free "even when it will [be] 'ready' to be called 'a game'." As any developer would also do in his stead, he suggests that donations are welcome. In the meanwhile, Marco is also developing other apps, according to his post.

Anyway, as an iPhone owner I'm sure you're going to ask: "Will it be available on the App Store?" Marco too thought you'd ask this, and this is what he can promise for now: "Who knows. I got no Mac, so far. So I can NOT use their SDK (I'm developing using Win Toolchain - thanks to great guys around who decided to share it). We'll see. I'll be glad if it could be there."

OK, so he can't make any promises for now. But he did everything using the Win toolchain, so you can only imagine what the man is capable of, should he put his work on a Mac. Well, what are you waiting for, guys? "...don't have a mac...", "donations" are "appreciated". Do you want to see this game on the App Store when it's finished, or don't you?
