KranX Production, as the developer, and Nival, as the publisher, have announced that they are working on a Facebook powered version of King's Bounty, called Legions, that will be launched during the summer of 2012, allowing gamers to connect with their friends and take them down in turn based tactical battles.

The game will initially be aimed only at the social network and later the two companies also plan to launch it on the Apple gaming able devices and on the Adroid powered phones.

King's Bounty Legends will try and combine the standard turn-based battle mechanics that powered the latest PC-based games in the series with a series of social elements that allow gamers to connect with friends, challenge them and compare their battle skills.

The game will also offer Players versus Environment battles against computer opponents and the developers are saying that there will be more than 40 levels of gameplay to progress to, complete with storylines.

Gamers will need to be careful about how they develop their characters and about how they go about recruiting troops.

As the players progress, Nival and KranX will add new levels, more troops to recruit and more stories to explore.

King's Bounty: Legends will be free to play and gamers will be able to pick up a number of items using virtual currency in order to enhance the abilities of their hero and its troops.

David D Christensen, the general manager of the North American operations of Nival who is also the executive producer working on King's Bounty: Legions, stated, “King's Bounty: Legions is the very definition of a social strategy game, offering the combination of competitive, tactical gameplay with fun social interaction.”

He added, “With its mixture of fun for both hardcore and social gamers, we like to think of King's Bounty: Legions as the chocolate and vanilla swirl cone of Facebook gaming.”
